My Learning Experience - Chapter II

Home Sweet Home - 1106 Meridian at Ballston

Well... With a terrible headache and eyesight problem I am writing
this blog but the fact that I am going to write about my living space
gives me an instant energy. I love DC and I enjoyed being in this city
and I thought I really have to write about the people who made my
life easier and happier here. As I mentioned in my last entry there
are three smart kids staying with me. Apart from fun, I learnt a lot
from them and they deserve the best of things in life. I am going to
write a "short notes" on each of them like the way we write for
exams. To be fair enough I am gonna go on with Alphabetical order

Angie - She is the most petite, cute and a beautiful creation from
the hands of God himself. She is very predictable yet funny and
excited all the time. She is so good in making the house look
like home. Angela Aranda, from New Jersey is the most
expensive girl friend because she is so crazy:) :) :) I love
this "Squirrel" girl for what she is and she cares a lot for
me and made me feel at home.

Kate - Wow!! The fitness freak from NJ is a tough women.
We both share some common thoughts and interest.
I learnt how to be hard working and committed to work
which I never did when I was 22.Hats of Kate. You rock.
She calls me "old lady" , "mom", "rein deer" and I like those
names :) She always comes to me for opinion since she feels
I am the best critic among all. I am honored.

Steph - She is from West Coast and a very punctual person.
I admire that quality. We both share the room. She loves
Indian food. In fact she learnt some recipes from me.
I enjoyed the NY trip with her and she was very nice
to me in the trip. Thank you for everything "Step" :)

My Learning Experience - Chapter I

Hello Everyone. I agree. I am so bad. I have been doing so much in DC and I never shared it to my world. My learning experience will be a story with several chapters. I think I could make it interesting and further this could help me write my first book. I wanna make it like a series from the day one of ma Washington Dreams and yes!! you guessed it right. My first chapter will be about my flight to United States and my living space.

Surprisingly I'm one woman who did not want to go out of India at all. And I know Almighty plays game with these category a lot. Though my assignment was for just 120 days, I could not stop ma mind thinking about what I will miss in this period of time. My lovable mom, my adorable dad, ma sweet sister, ma devilish friends , home food, Ma mom, dad's birthday etc :( and this is an unending list which made me uncomfortable but... The other end of the world is United States inviting me for a great purpose. Well I decided to do my best what ever it might be. I was ready to face the challenges. I know for sure the take away from the course and the exposure is gonna make a lot of difference in my life.

So, I reached D.C in a Qatar flight and stayed in my uncle's home. The next day I reached # 1106 apartment of Meridian at Ballston. I was totally in a different environment. A very calm apartment and of course I was the first to check in. By evening I met all my three room mates... Katelyn, Angela and Stephani. They are students from United States itself. They are clever and smart kids. I am happy to be one among them. This is just a start and will continue as episodes.

First-Time-First-Serve

Hello Everybody

I am stepping into a new blog today to contribute to Ford Program Web-Site on behalf of Washington Education Center. It was an amazing feeling when I saw the mail that "I'm the chosen one" from the International students to be a blogger of this site. My sincere thanks to TWC and Ford for providing me this opportunity.

Well, why I named it "My Washington Dreams" ?

The application forms were filled and sent to TWC. My friend and I wanted to crush any competition to get this scholarship. Too keep up the spirit within us we decided to name our goal as " Washington Dreams". Who ever wins gets the title "My Washington Dreams". This space has given me a chance to continue that spirit as I pen down my memories that exist and are yet to happen.

Thank you

Cheers,
